Frequently asked questions
How much does concrete cost?
Ready-mix costs about $160–$195 per cubic yard (Concrete Network, 2026). Installed, a plain slab runs $4–$8 per sq ft (This Old House), and driveways and patios $9.59–$12.64 per sq ft (Homewyse, May 2026). See cost per square foot.
How much concrete do I need?
Multiply length × width × thickness in feet and divide by 27 for cubic yards. A 10 × 10 ft slab at 4 inches needs 1.23 cubic yards, or 56 bags of 80 lb concrete, before waste.
Where do your prices come from?
From published, dated sources: national cost guides such as Concrete Network, Homewyse, This Old House and Fixr, retailer listings and the Quikrete data sheet. Every figure links to its source. See methodology.
Do you have prices for my state or city?
No. We only publish figures we can source, and we have no reliable local data. Local prices can sit well above or below the national ranges, so use them as a check and get written quotes.
